The general directorate of the treasury is managed by a chief executive officer who is the main accountant of the State budget. He works along with three proxies whose duty is to oversee central directorates and external services.
Under by law nº 203-141, July 31, 2003 on the duties and organization of the general directorate of the du treasury, the field of competence of proxies is as follows :
The first proxy assists the chief executive officer of the treasury in the management of the treasury on a daily basis. As such, he supervises the following departments :
- revenue department;
- expenditure department;
- securities department
The second proxy the chief executive officer of the treasury as regard studies, monitoring and litigation. As such, he monitors the following departments :
- monitoring department;
- studies and forecasting department;
- litigation and prosecution department;
The third proxy assists the chief executive officer of the treasury in the management and book keeping of central and foreign services. As such, he supervises the following departments :
- accounting department ;
- administrative and financial department;
- foreign services department.
